Why Hosted Exchange Technology
Hosted vs. On-Premise
Switching from an in-house solution is certainly a lot easier
than you may think. At Cobweb, we do the switch for you, with
no interruptions or loss of data and before you know it, you’ll be
up and running with the following benefits compared to having your
own in-house solution:
- Enhanced security compared to an in-house installation,
including automated and timely installation of Anti-Virus, security
patches and other software updates.
- Increased availability and performance through broadband
access.
- High availability architecture with built-in system
redundancy
- Professional operations and support personnel
- Accessibility over the public Internet allows secure access for
both internal and external scenarios
- Support for highly distributed, ‘virtual’ work
situations. No requirement for complex VPN or
Internet/Intranet solutions.
- Hassle-free, ‘peace of mind’, operations means no worrying
about security patches, software updates/upgrades, monitoring,
repairing failed hardware, adding capacity, etc.
System Control
Connection to each mailbox is made over the internet allowing
users to gain access regardless of time or location. The
supported access methods available to you are:
Microsoft Office Outlook
The industry leading email client helps you simplify email
communication, streamline group planning and scheduling, and access
the information you need – all in one place. The method of
connection is Outlook anywhere (RPC over HTTPS) ensuring all data
is securely encrypted and avoiding the need for VPN.
Outlook Web App 2010
- SSL/TLS secured access through a Web browser to email,
calendar, group scheduling, tasks and public folder
information. Outlook Web App 2010 is an effective
solution for users who require roaming or remote access.
- ActivSync compatible and Windows Mobile devices
- BlackBerry Enterprise Devices
- Full access for BlackBerry Enterprise devices including push
email and synchronized calendars (requires the purchase of an
additional service add-on)
- All MAPI, POP3 and IMAP4 connections use 1024-bit SSL, with
SMTP transmitted using TLS for maximum security.
Platform Management
Cobweb Solutions operates a Network Operations Centre (NOC),
staffed by experienced and dedicated NOC Analysts with highly
skilled Windows and Exchange Administrators in support to provide
full management of our platforms.
We use Microsoft Systems Centre Operations Manager to
monitor our operating systems and software which, combined with HP
Systems Insight Manager for hardware provides us with the ability
to detect problems in real-time and act in advance of most service
issues that occur.
Multiple monitoring screens around the NOC, visible to our
Customer Support team provide additional real-time visual
information as to the current state of our platforms and help to
keep platform health front of mind for all members of the Technical
Operations team.
Bespoke configurations
Cobweb are able to develop and support bespoke
configurations and customisations for many of our services, ranging
from application development to process and operations integration
tools.
Customisations range from Control Panel
modifications and feature additions, bespoke reporting and billing
integration, through to SharePoint web part development, CRM
customisations, and dedicated application servers.
